Tutoring with the Tutor Corps Foundation
We’re so glad to have wonderful tutors eager to work with our Tutor Corps Foundation students! To prepare to support your TCF students, please review this guide and resources.
Helpful Resources for Working with Foundation Students
As with our other tutoring, we recommend that our foundation tutors approach their foundation tutoring from a holistic perspective, serving as thoughtful mentors to our students and integrating components of Social Emotional Learning into their instruction. It might also be helpful to support your student with executive functioning skills, helping them stay organized and on track.
Resources to guide you on this mission include:
Our paid Mentorship Curriculum
All of our foundation students receive a set of learning materials to set them up for success and stay organized, including a document camera, white board, and dry-erase markers. These resources allow your student to share their work with you in real time so you can easily coach and redirect as they work through problem sets and other homework. Make sure you know how to coach your student through using their doc cam. Watch our 1 minute tutorial here.
