Updates to AP Testing from the College Board
The College Board has announced a few recent changes to their Advanced Placement testing procedures to provide more flexibility to students planning on taking the exams later this spring in light of restrictions brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The latest news from the College Board indicates students will be provided maximum flexibility through options to take the exam digitally or at their school, if it’s open for in-person instruction. The Board has improved its digital test-taking options from last year, which had a number of glitches and left some students needing to re-take the exam due to technical errors.
Latest Changes:
The 2021 exam schedule provides 3 testing dates for each subject between early May and mid-June.
The school will make decisions about which exams will be offered and provide students/families with updates.
In the first testing window, paper and pencil exams will be given in schools, the same as any other year.
During the second and third testing windows, many subjects’ exams will be given on computer. If a student is unable to take the digital exam at the school, the AP coordinator will be able to authorize the student to take the test at home.
